Benefits Continue!
You know what’s funny about business? Well, not funny, but rather irritating? Larger corporations won’t simply just “give the best price.” Corporations don’t just want profit— they want more and more and more profit. What about a benefit to the consumer (lower price) or a benefit to the employees (better salaries or benefits) or a benefit to those in need (hello charitable health donations)?
I despise corporate greed. Little of it is used for the better good. More often it’s for mega salaries. Honestly, I wouldn’t even know what to do with tens or hundreds of millions. Aside from never wanting to be under a microscope of the rich and famous.
All this ranting and raving brings me to a point (I know, I know… I’ve got one, I promise!) — Fullscript won’t simply offer the best rate to anyone shopping their supplement site. They will, however, partner with medical professionals to offer discounts through the practitioner’s link. Not sure why, but hey, here I am, a middleman to get a discount! Hahaha!
Now to the good news, and why despite this headache of having to partner with them for a better price, I do LOVE how their site works. Many patients are on supplements, and I do in fact, support many of them. The difficulty with supplements is they’re not FDA regulated. So, essentially, companies can pop up overnight, toss dirt it a capsule and call it an herbal blend. Yes, I’m being fasetious here, but seriously. It’s not too far fetched.
It’s important to know what IS in there, to have a means to ensure you GET what you’re paying (often a LOT of $$) for, and to be confident that it’s NOT filled with harmful junk.
Through Fullscripts, you can select filters for a particular search (say Vitamin D) and add qualifiers to it (let’s say add calcium, magnesium, vitamin K2) and what to avoid (maybe no gluten or dairy). You can also filter by certification (IFOS for fish oil, for example, or NSF, NSF-Sport, or USP) to help guide yourself to better quality products. [IFOS - International Fish Oil Standards; NSF- National Sanitation Foundation; USP- US Pharmacopeia] NSF-Sport is actually endorsed by US Anti-Doping Agency, MLB, NFL, NBA, PGA/LPGA, CCES, NASCARD, iNADO and more.
I am a firm believer that the best way to get your necessary nutrients is through diet itself, however, when that isn’t always feasible (not everyone has a palate for a variety of veggies!), quality supplements are the next best option!
